PME is an international group of mathematics educators and researchers who gather once a year to share our work and interests at our Annual Conference. Next year, our Annual Conference will take place in Kiel, Germany, from July 28- August 2 in 2013. PME welcomes all who are interested in how students learn mathematics, how instructors teach mathematics, and how mathematicians, teachers and students do mathematics. The International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME), is a group of researchers, established in 1976 at the International Congress on Mathematics Education (ICME3) in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The aims of the organization are:

(i) to promote international contacts and exchange of scientific information in the field of mathematical education;

 

(ii) to promote and stimulate interdisciplinary research in the aforesaid area; and

 

(iii) to further a deeper and more correct understanding of the psychology and other aspects of teaching and learning mathematics and the implications thereof.
