We followed 225 Grade 3-4 students in Northeast China across three waves and employed Latent Class Growth Modeling to identify the role of SUC on the advanced multiplicative schemes. Two latent classes (high-decreasing vs. low-increasing) were identified based on their developmental pattern on SUC. Mixed-design repeated-measures ANOVA showed significant Class × Time interactions for both MUC and PV-B10: the high-decreasing class declined on both schemes, whereas the low-increasing class improved. Results suggest SUC as an adaptor in the development of advanced multiplicative reasoning schemes.
