Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

The International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME) is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities.

Our Commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. Our website is built to be:

  • Perceivable — content can be seen or heard by all users
  • Operable — all navigation and functions work with a keyboard, not only a mouse
  • Understandable — content is clear and navigation is consistent
  • Robust — content works with current and future assistive technologies

Technical Measures in Place

  • Semantic HTML5 markup throughout
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of every page
  • Sufficient colour contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for body text)
  • Descriptive alternative text on all images
  • Keyboard-navigable menus
  • No auto-playing audio or video
  • All fonts self-hosted (no external CDN dependencies)
  • Fully responsive design — mobile, tablet, and desktop

Known Limitations

  • Some older PDF documents (conference proceedings prior to 2020) may not be fully screen-reader accessible — we are reviewing these progressively
